Phishing Scam Alert

Weinberg Foundation Logo

ALERT: The Weinberg Foundation’s name is being fraudulently used in a phishing scam. Impersonating a Facebook friend on Facebook Messenger, the scammers claim the Weinberg Foundation is giving money to people. Often identifying themselves as some sort of “agent,” the scammers then encourage people to pay money or provide information to get money from the Weinberg Foundation. This is not authorized by nor affiliated with the Weinberg Foundation. It is a fraudulent scheme to steal money.

We have been aware of this scam for some time and have posted alerts on our website and Facebook page. We have also notified state and federal authorities, as well as Facebook. There is no need to notify the Weinberg Foundation of a particular incident, nor is it necessary to share any information.

Thank you for your understanding.
