Mission: Alternative Directions, Inc. (ADI) was founded in 1979 to serve individuals whose lives have been devastated by poverty. A statewide organization, ADI is dedicated to helping inmates, ex-offenders, and others in need to become contributing members of our community through civil legal assistance, advocacy, and transitional services.

Description of Programs and Services: Transition Services: Pre-release Workshops, Home Visits, Post-release Individual and Group Counseling and Case Management, Drug Treatment, Bus Passes, GED Tutoring, Mentoring, Advocacy with Social Service and Government agencies, Referrals to Community Organizations. Civil Legal Services: Workshops in Prisons and Jails, Temporary Guardianships, Divorces, Child Support Modification, Birth Certificates and Social Security Applications, Name Change Packets, Information about Credit, Bankruptcy, Visitation and Child Custody.
