Mission: The mission is to promote equal access to justice in Maryland by coordinating and supporting volunteer civil legal services, providing resources and support for legal advocates for the poor, and promoting cooperation within the legal community.
Summary of Programs and Services (see legend): A, E, LG
Description of Programs and Services: Our organization matches volunteer lawyers with close to 30 legal and human services agencies that serve the poor or disadvantaged. All of the agencies we work with adhere to our same criteria of income eligibility screening or special needs of at-risk elderly and disabled. People with legal problems contact our office on a daily basis for information and referrals to lawyers, law firms or agencies that can assist them. We also produce a Guide to Legal Services that is made available to the public through libraries, social services agencies, school and courthouses. Our lawyers receive additional training, mentors, and other support services from our organization to ensure the quality of care to the clients they serve.
Total number of people served: 1,350
