Mission: Centro's mission is to promote the continued successful participation of the Hispanic/Latino community in the social, economic, and political life of the greater Baltimore metropolitan region. Centro serves as a) an accessible, bilingual gateway into mainstream programs and activities; b) delivers culturally sensitive services targeted to meet the needs of the Hispanic community; and c) is a referral service that assists established entities, agencies, and programs in serving the Hispanic/Latino community.

Description of Programs and Services: Some examples of services provided include: 1) Provide HIV/AIDS prevention workshops for adolescents and their parents; 2) Collaborate with Bayview Hospital's Care-A-Van 3 days/week to provide medical care for uninsured; 3) Provide support groups for women, first-time pregnancies, and domestic violence victims; 4) Referral of clients to clinics, doctors, and other health programs; 5) Assist clients with all legal and immigration issues, at times referring to specialized attorneys as needed; 6) Provide ESL and computer classes, assistance in applying for GED, financial aid resources for college education; enrollment in adult education, advocacy for children; 7) Interview and referrals for employment; 8) Homeownership promotion program, landlord-tenant issues, apartment referrals; 9) Training programs in Spanish.
