Position Summary
The senior manager of business intelligence will lead the Foundation’s data strategy, focusing on designing and implementing analytics, reporting, and data architecture to support data-driven decision making across the organization. This role will collaborate closely with the Program, Communications, and other teams across the organization to develop metrics and analytics that assess the effectiveness and impact of the Foundation’s strategies. By driving innovation in data management, reporting, and automation, this position will support the Foundation’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes, ensuring high-quality data and accessible insights through a robust data governance framework.
Overall Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to establish key metrics and frameworks for measuring the effectiveness of grant strategies, while developing dashboards and reports for actionable insights.
- Lead the design and implementation of a scalable data architecture with strong governance practices, ensuring data integrity and integration across various platforms, including the Foundation’s core operating platform built on Salesforce.
- Enhance business intelligence by delivering advanced analytics and automated reporting systems, enabling teams to make strategic decisions and providing leadership with high-impact presentations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for cross-functional teams, providing training to improve data literacy and managing projects with external vendors to enhance data capabilities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field. Master’s degree or a minimum of eight years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data architecture, including at least five years in a strategic leadership role, is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of Salesforce required; certification strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise in impact measurement, preferably within a nonprofit, foundation, or mission-driven organization. Experience in grant-related data is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with modern analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, R).
- Experience with API integrations and automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier) to enhance data workflows.
- Familiarity with JSON and other data formats for seamless integration and transformation.
Benefits and Salary Range
Compensation for this position includes an annual base pay range of $160,000–$175,000. Additionally, the Foundation offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package that includes vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and a retirement plan with employer contributions.
