A new program in the San Francisco Unified School District aims to introduce high school students of color to the fields of health and life sciences. Mission Bay Hub provides opportunities for learning and mentorship while creating much-needed paths to college and careers in industries where communities of color are often underrepresented.

To develop effective, community-driven approaches that help people move and stay out of poverty, the Weinberg Foundation and several other philanthropies launched the Mobility Learning and Action Bets (Mobility LABs) initiative in 2019.

Since its launch, Mobility LABs has invested in nine communities around the country, including Baltimore City and rural Northeastern Pennsylvania — two of Weinberg’s priority communities.

A new resource provides an overview of the Foundation’s grantmaking focused on serving the Jewish community in Israel and the United States.

From 2021 through 2023, the Foundation provided nearly $150 million in grants to support the Jewish community in both countries, including investments to address poverty, improve the lives of older adults, prevent intimate partner violence, and combat antisemitism.
