Message from Rachel and Corbett

Aloha,

Together. It is a word that describes how nonprofits, community leaders, individuals, and families—all of us—are going to pull through this pandemic.

Our new reality has amplified the fact that our own health and actions impact the health of our entire community, and more than ever, our families, neighborhoods, and communities are stronger, safer, and healthier when we come together to celebrate moments of joy and unite in moments of crisis. Without a doubt, we are better together.

In Hawai‘i, the Weinberg Foundation has been privileged to witness—and support—many instances of nonprofits collaborating to create lasting change in communities statewide. There are countless success stories of the innovative approaches our grantees are taking to help meet the basic needs of people experiencing poverty, and we’re pleased to share a few examples in this Hawai‘i e-news.

We all have a responsibility to help Hawai‘i beat COVID-19 and lay the foundation for recovery. As a funder, our responsibility is to support those who need it most, and we’re working as rapidly and thoughtfully as possible to address the devastating impact of this pandemic. Mahalo for the important work you do every day to improve the lives of so many in our community. Please know that you have our full support, and we know we will get through this together.

Mahalo. Be well.
