Leisel Harry has been an employee of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation since 2013. Currently she is the Program Associate for Education. In this role, she works closely with Baltimore City Public Schools and community partners to ensure that the Baltimore Elementary and Middle School Library Project and early childhood centers are operating efficiently and effectively, as well as furthering the goals of the education portfolio.
In her previous roles, she worked as the Program Associate for Library and Special Projects and as a Program Assistant to four of the Foundation’s Program Directors. Prior to working for the Foundation, she was the Director of Administration and Compliance Officer for Fortis College. Leisel received a full basketball scholarship in August of 2000 from Coppin State University and is a proud graduate. She was the first international student athlete to complete a Bachelor’s as well as Master’s degree in five years and earn the President’s Eagle Award for that accomplishment. Leisel holds a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and began working in education in 2001 as a student worker, assisting with academic eligibility and graduation requirements.
Leisel was born in Trinidad and Tobago but moved to Maryland to pursue her education. She is the mother of two boys, ages 12 and 10, enjoys travelling, and lives in Baltimore County.
