Weinberg Foundation enters new grantmaking space through partnership with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs)

The Weinberg Foundation recently announced $7.5 million in grants to three Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) as part of the Foundation’s long-term COVID-19 response, which is focused on meeting the increased demand by direct services nonprofits for accessible and affordable loan funds.

Applications for Baltimore Summer Funding Collaborative under review

The Baltimore Summer Funding Collaborative (SFC) has received and is currently reviewing more than 150 applications for summer 2021 programs. Decisions will be released in early March.

Jews of Color initiative announces leadership grants

The Jews of Color initiative recently approved seven grants, totaling $278,650, to support the leadership development of Jews of Color, in response to an RFP launched in October. This round of grants, which was supported by the Weinberg Foundation, will elevate the leadership of Jews of Color at several Jewish nonprofits, including Camp Tawonga in San Francisco, The Joint Distribution Committee’s Entwine fellowship, Avodah, and more.

The Weinberg Foundation recently announced two senior staff promotions: Arlene Cox to the role of chief operating officer and David Gilmore to the role of deputy chief investment officer.

The Weinberg Foundation recently approved more than 50 grants totaling $27 million supporting the areas of Housing, Health, Jobs, Education, and Community Services. This does not include COVID-19 emergency grants, which are updated regularly on our website.
