A new third-party evaluation demonstrates the impact of the Baltimore Elementary and Middle School Library Project and highlights key components of its success.

Launched in 2011 by the Weinberg Foundation, Baltimore City Public Schools, and other partners, the Library Project has transformed 17 school libraries in city neighborhoods where many young people face academic and economic challenges, serving over 7,700 students and their families.

A tool kit aims to inspire and guide funders, school districts, community partnerships, and other entities in establishing collaborative efforts to promote reading proficiency and academic success in their community.

Based on the Library Project, the tool kit outlines the phases of and key steps for planning similar projects, incorporating examples from the Baltimore effort.

Grantee Together Ending Need’s report explores how Hollywood and the media characterize Jews, recognizing the significant role that both play in shaping public perception. This research will inform efforts to promote a wider range of stories that reflect the diverse experiences of the U.S. Jewish community, including the stories of people experiencing poverty.
