Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey constructs affordable housing for older adults and adults with disabilities

Weinberg Foundation grantee Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey recently completed the construction of Weinberg Commons, an affordable housing apartment building for older adults, 55 and older, as well as adults, 21 and older, with developmental disabilities.

In addition, Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and their family of agencies—Katz Jewish Community Center, Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Aleph Home Care, Jewish Senior Housing & Healthcare Service, as well as other community-based nonprofits—will provide health and wellness, transportation, and recreational services for residents. Professional care coordinators will assess the needs of each resident and develop plans to meet those needs, while also maintaining the residents’ independence.

The Weinberg Foundation granted $2.5 million to this project.
