Weinberg Foundation commits $2.5 million to nonprofits combating antisemitism throughout the United States

The Foundation remains committed to its core mission of meeting the basic needs of people experiencing poverty and also believes it is critically important, especially in this moment, to expand upon a long-standing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the Jewish community, including fighting hate in all of its forms.

This commitment includes support for national organizations focused on combating and dismantling antisemitism and white supremacy, as well as additional security for Jewish communities. In addition, funding will support local Jewish Federations and Jewish Community Relations Councils (JCRCs) within the Foundation’s US priority communities: Baltimore, Chicago, Hawai‘i, New York City, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and San Francisco.

As a result, the Foundation has approved $2.5 million in new grants to nonprofits specifically focused on combating antisemitism throughout the United States. The following organizations are part of this commitment:

  • Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith
  • The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore
  • Baltimore Jewish Council
  • Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund of San Francisco, Marin, Peninsula, and Sonoma Counties
  • Jewish Community Relations Council of New York
  • Jewish Community Relations Council of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, Sonoma, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties
  • Jewish Federation of Northeastern Pennsylvania
  • Jewish Federations of North America
  • Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago
  • Life After Hate
