North Lawndale Employment Network celebrates grand opening of new workforce campus

In Chicago, Weinberg Foundation grantee North Lawndale Employment Network recently celebrated the grand opening of its new workforce campus, which now houses all programs—the Financial Opportunity Center, as well as all employment, social enterprise, and re-entry and safety programs—under one roof.

The new campus also includes a Wintrust Bank branch along with the Worker Bee Café, a diesel mechanic training center, a rooftop apiary, and the Sweet Beginnings social enterprise. North Lawndale Employment Network aims to serve 5,000 people annually at this new campus, which expands access and opportunity for low-income residents.

The Foundation contributed a $1 million grant to this project.
