About the Sculpture at the Foundation’s Baltimore Office

Art-Sculpture

Created by Baltimore’s Art With a Heart, this sculpture of mosaic art is inspired by the vessels that held the Dead Sea scrolls. Its mosaic art depicts aspects of Israel’s past, present, and future, including some of the country’s iconic landmarks and landscapes.

The piece is the sister to a 2022 public art project of three sculptures in Ashkelon, Israel, which community members in the sister cities of Baltimore and Ashkelon helped bring to life. Also designed by Art With a Heart, the three nine-foot, cylindrical sculptures stand in the center courtyard of an affordable housing complex for older adults built by Weinberg Foundation grantee Amigour.
