Baltimore’s CollegeBound Foundation, a Weinberg Foundation grantee, increases the number of students attending college after high school, resulting in the commitment from three public high schools to invest in their own on-site college advisors for the first time.
Collegebound Foundation’s “Roving Advisor” program provided college advisors to high schools that did not have one, in hopes that principals would budget for advisors in future school years. Last year, 123 seniors were served by roving advisors and each submitted at least one college application, with 74 percent applying to four-year institutions.
The Foundation provided $400,000 in grants over multiple years in support of this project.
